More lettings in Poland
The proportion of housing constructed for sale or rent has increased from 40.4% in 2008 to 45.1% in 2009.
During the specified period, the share of homes built as personal residences has decreased from 50.5% to 45.1%. The rest of the properties were built for the needs of the state or housing cooperatives - their share in overall volume of construction has changed insignificantly.

The total number of residential properties built in the country over 2009 has decreased by 3.1%, compared to the preceding year. The overall area of constructed properties has decreased by 7.2%, according to a by the Polish Central Bureau of Statistics.
It is also noted that the number of housing permits issued by the Polish authorities in 2009 has plummeted by 23.5%, compared to a year earlier.
